I have been known to write the odd letter to Irish newspapers when I feel the need arises. This might surprise readers but sometimes certain issues annoy me.

Regarding the theme of the letter, I must state that I’m not an uncritical fan of Elon Musk’s X — for one, that most users have to pay to verify accounts makes it somewhat elitist — but I believe it’s a more balanced platform now than under its previous owners. The Twitter of old regularly blocked content such as the following, https://youtu.be/wuuLFHsxyDY. I’m certainly in no panic to join the liberal echo chamber that is Bluesky.
X marks the diversity spot when it comes to social media.
